It was an unexpected opportunity for five graduates in Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the weekend when Rep, Babajimi Benson surprisingly announced job opportunities at the 9th anniversary of the iCare Foodbank, the working arm through which he distributes monthly ‘Apo -Anu” to constituents in Ikorodu.
Rep. Benson had announced to elder constituents that he would be providing five employment opportunities and asked them to nominate their children who are graduates. Fortunately, graduates who are job seekers were also at the distribution of iCare food packs at the Rep. Babajimi Benson Constituency Office at the weekend, held in commemoration of the 2025 World Food Day.

That is how Mariam Omotoyosi, a graduate of Business Administration, Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Aminat Adebola, who studied Economics at the Olabisi Onabanjo, Temitope Mary Adeleke, graduate of Health Tech/ Environmental Health, Ogun State College of Health, Abibat Motunrayo Sule, Business Education/Secretariat Studies, Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, and one other, secured surprise employment in Abuja through their federal representative.
In an interview, Rep. Benson said that the employment is a way to lift others up and make them somebody, a duty he said he was encouraged to do by President Bola Tinubu.
“Yes, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu always tells us that the best thing that we can make happen is when the children of nobody are being given opportunities that they ordinarily cannot be entitled to. So, I have some employment opportunities for work in Abuja, and I feel that I should give it to them, that they also grow up in the service, and be able to be of help to their families,” he said.

One of the beneficiaries, Mariam Omotoyosi, who studied Buisness Administration at Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, reacting said:
“I am so happy with what he did for me today. I am glad in fact, I am speechless, but grateful.”
Aminat Adebola, graduate of Economics, Olabisi Onabanjo University, also speaking with our reporter, said:
“It is a nice gesture which I never heard of before. This is my first time and I didn’t even want to come, but my dad was like, ‘I should come and see it’ and I didn’t know that I am going to see something else in this place. I am happy to be here.”
